So I spent a little time checking out the Sullivan Hall website last night, and let me tell you guys, this place is very chill and a perfect venue for ChillSet. This place recently hosted some very big na
mes like the Lee Boys with Marco Benevento (who frequently jams with Mike Gordon of Phish) and Warren Haynes (of Gov't Mule, the Allman Brothers, and my iPod at least once per day!), also Charlie Hunter, Lettuce (who I have heard great things about) and Tea Leaf Green. And now ChillSet.
This is a big show for the band as they pack up that gorgeous purple van and head out of Boston to NYC. There's alot of ChillFans in New York so I have no doubt we'll pack the place, my only question is what will the band play? Lately they've been mixing up their set lists, weaving random cover songs in with their fresh originals and I think even surprising themselves a bit with what ends up making the Set. Personally, it's been awhile since I've heard them do Floyd's 'Brain Damage' (which can at times jam into Stairway to Heaven, but I just enjoy Justin doing the lunatic laugh in the background) or their original 'Dirty Money' so I would love to hear either of those. But the band doesn't even know what they'll play I'm sure, so I guess I'll just have to be surprised!
